Thank you so much for all the info regarding GGR.. I have been looking for a Great Dane since Jan. and came across there site today. I thought it was weird that they had so many breeds available. Most rescues have 10-15 available for adoption, not 100+! GGR is not a rescue, it's a dog market.. When is the government going to finally take action and shut these dirt bags down for good??

i've been dreaming of being owned by a saluki.
my other saluki, rah-baby (real name unknown), i adopted in the early 80's from an animal shelter in Sparta, Wisconsin. she had been abused, and for a that full 1st year with us she just laid around. she wouldn't even sit up to eat her kibble. i believe her spirit was broken by what she experienced. but she slowly came around, and was a blessing! what a wonderful kid she was! that little girl made an enormous impact on my life, and the lives of others.
i worked in human behavioral health and would take her to work with me. she gave love to some people who had not felt love in a long time. we loved those 'take your daughter to work' days.
so, i've been all over the world looking at all things saluki's for a long long while, and getting very serious about it for the last 3 years (since i purchased my home).
i would rather adopt a rescue then buy a pup from a breeder. there was always something about GGR that made me scratch my head, and i kept going back to see if i could find what was making me feel excited but extremely cautious about that site. it was just too over the top, and they always had the same saluki's there for all these years. maybe because GGR seemed to have cornered the market on saluki's? i looked at their site as they have a large number of feathered saluki's, which is my preference.
i now live in n. ca and notice stola does not keep adding dogs to their number of charges. i'm glad to know stola will be there, and hopefully down the line i will again be owned by a clown of a saluki dog. i would also consider working with a saluki rescue agency in fostering.
so, thank you for this eye opening site. i can't say what GGR is up to, but from the consistency of those who had poor experiences with GGR, i will sure keep a look out for activity on their site. i hope this is just LOOKING bad and the animals at GGR are really healthy, cared for and appreciated. if not, how do we rescue the rescued?
