Looks like there has not been any recent activity on this message board regarding Gentle Giants Rescue. Does anyone know whether they are still in business, or have our complaints and the economy put them in dire straits?

They have 136 dogs- virtually all of which are puppies- listed on Petfinder, all exotic breeds and mixes of exotics that are mind-bogglingly improbable- ibizians, saluki, Irish wolfhounds, you name it.
Form 990 for 2008 (last year available) shows they brought in $206,663, spending only $47,095 on veterinary fees on over 500 dogs (from line 28 of the same form), or an average of under $95 in vet fees per dog per year.
Their website now claims that "their" dog food doubles the lifespan of giant breed dogs.
I don't know which is the worse mental illness: hoarding, or claiming you're rescuing dogs when you're clearly selling purpose-bred puppies.
